5-4-3-2-1....Action!

Yo! I have started a blog here! Note that I said 'blog', not 'account'. Why? Because I started this account a long, long, long time ago....but I never got around to writing. Then I started a LiveJournal *grins*. So, why did I decide to make a blog here? Well, I don't exactly have a reason....*shrugs* My topic of blog..Rants on Sayings! I did one on my LiveJournal, and I wanted to do more. I'm wondering how come I just didn't write more rants on my LiveJournal.... So, without further ado *drumroll* my rant from LiveJournal!

Haven't we all heard the saying "The pen is mightier than the sword?" Is that really true? Let's say, we're in the middle of a war and we take this saying seriously. We sell all our swords and whatever,(Nowadays, it's bombs and guns, right?)and buy a whole ton of pens. What do you do with them now? Well, you could take this saying word-for-word and try to stab the enemy, preferably in the eye. Or maybe you could make little missiles or whatever with them. Anyways, that probably won't work.

What if you go "time out" and take the time to write a nice, fancy letter saying why you are the greater cause and why they should wave the white flag....good luck with that. Or perhaps you could write on why there should be a compromise or why both of you should just give up the fight and go home....the compromising might work, although the enemy will think that you're a nutcase. lol. The whole giving up thing, you're just asking to be shot.

So, where's the proof that the pen is mightier than the sword? Well, the only time it would be is when you're really annoyed at someone. Instead of impaling them with sharp, pointy objects, you write an argument on why you're right and they're wrong. Or why they should quit bugging you. This has a chance of working....unless the opponent is your sibling, then you don't have any chance of winning. I'm serious. They'll just run their tattle-taling mouths to your parents, who have been programmed to take the younger, cuter side....I never said that life was fair.

So, "The pen is mightier than the sword" is a complete lie! It's much better to just take a sword and get rid of the annoyance.
